How does the free trial work?

7-day free trial, and it starts the day your number goes live. The plan is free for those 7 days — the only thing you can be charged for is minutes past the 120 included, at 20c a minute. You set up a payment method at sign-up so the number can be ordered; nothing is collected until the trial ends, and if you cancel before then you pay nothing.
Minutes past the allowance during the free trial are charged at the same per-minute rate and appear as one line on your first bill; if you cancel before the trial ends, they are not charged at all.
During a free trial there is a safety limit: at 240 forwarded minutes we send callers to voicemail until the plan starts, so a misconfigured diverting line can't run up a bill on a free trial. You still get every message by email, and we lift it on request.
