Who is responsible. Vector Retail Group Ltd (company number 12583718, 30 Allt Yr Yn Heights, Newport NP20 5DX, United Kingdom) is the data controller for the personal data described here, with one exception: recordings of answered calls, which our customers make by switching call recording on. The customer controls those, and we hold them on the customer's instructions — see clause 7 of the terms. Contact: privacy@landlineformobile.com. We are registered with the UK Information Commissioner's Office.

What we collect and why. Account details (name, email, mobile number, address) to provide the service and contact you about it. Identity details and any documents the country's numbering rules require — for this store: New Zealand numbering rules ask for an address in New Zealand — no documents. Payment details are collected by Stripe, not by us; we hold only a reference, the last four digits of a card, and the payment status. Call records (caller's number, your number, time, duration, outcome) to route calls, bill correctly, detect abuse and answer your questions. Voicemails, and the transcripts our carrier's speech-to-text makes of them. Recordings of answered calls, if you switch call recording on in your control panel — those are yours: you decide whether to record and why, our carrier holds the audio for you and we hold a link to it, we delete both when you say so or after 90 days, and we do not listen to them or use them for anything of our own. Support messages. If you give us your email address for an offer code and tick the box, we keep that address to email you about our offers and new features until you unsubscribe, which every such email lets you do in one click. Basic technical data (IP address, browser, pages viewed) for security and to make the site work. And — only if you accept advertising cookies — the identifier Google's tag sets in your browser, your IP address, which of our adverts brought you and which order you placed, so we can tell which adverts are worth paying for.

Legal bases. Performing our contract with you (the service itself, billing, support); legal obligations (numbering and identity rules, tax, responding to lawful requests); and our legitimate interests in keeping the service secure, preventing fraud and abuse, and improving it — balanced against your rights. Advertising, and the measurement that goes with it, rest on your consent and on nothing else: nothing is set or read on your device until you accept, we do not fall back on legitimate interests for it, and you can withdraw at any time from "Cookie settings" in the footer of every page. We never sell your data.

Who handles data for us. We use specialist providers, each under a contract that limits what they may do with it: licensed telecoms carriers (currently Telnyx, and Plivo or Twilio where used) to provide numbers, route calls, hold voicemail audio and — where a customer has switched call recording on — the recordings of their answered calls, transcribe voicemails, verify mobiles and, for regulated numbers, verify identity; Stripe for payments and invoicing; Clerk for sign-in; Resend for email; Cloudflare, which hosts the site and its database; an identity-verification provider where a carrier does not perform the check; and, only where you have accepted advertising cookies, Google, for measuring our adverts. Some of these operate outside the UK; where personal data leaves the UK or EEA it is protected by the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or an adequacy decision.

Sending advertising data to Google. If you accept advertising cookies, information about your visit goes to Google, which means it leaves the UK — Google Ireland Limited in Ireland and Google LLC in the United States. Google states that it relies on the UK extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and on the Standard Contractual Clauses for those transfers, and handles the data as a controller in its own right under its own privacy policy. We share no name, email address, telephone number or payment detail with Google: what goes is the identifier Google itself set, the pages you looked at, the value and currency of an order if you place one, and our own reference number for that order — a number that means nothing outside our system, and is there so one purchase is not counted as two.

How long we keep it. Identity documents pass through to the verifying party and are not stored on our systems once verification completes; we keep the result and a reference. Documents you upload to transfer a number to us are emailed straight to the person who raises that transfer with the losing provider, are never stored in our database, and are deleted from that mailbox once the transfer finishes. The transfer request itself (your name, email, the number and which provider it is with) and the record of what happened to it: 12 months after the transfer completes or is refused, and 90 days if the documents are never sent. Account and billing records for 6 years after your account closes, as tax law requires. Call records for 12 months. Voicemails and their transcripts for 90 days, or until you delete them. Recordings of answered calls for 90 days, or until you delete them — we delete our carrier's copy of the audio before our own record of it, and chase the carrier if it refuses. Support messages for 2 years. Technical logs for 90 days. We keep nothing ourselves from the advertising tag: what it collects goes to Google, which holds it under its own policies, and the cookies it sets in your browser last up to about 13 months. Your answer to the cookie banner stays in your own browser until you clear this site's data.

Your rights. You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict processing, and take your data to another provider. You can withdraw consent to advertising cookies at any moment from "Cookie settings" in the footer of every page — one click, the same one click it took to give it — and withdrawing does not affect anything done before you withdrew. Email privacy@landlineformobile.com; we respond within one month. If you were recorded by one of our customers and want a copy of that recording or want it deleted, ask the business you called: they decided to record it and they control it, and we act on their instructions. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or your local data protection authority. Deleting your account deletes your data on the schedule above.

Cookies. The site uses the cookies it needs to work and, only if you agree to them, Google's advertising cookies. The cookie policy lists every one of them, who sets it, what it does and how long it lasts, and "Cookie settings" in the footer changes your answer whenever you like.

Children. The service is for adults and businesses. We do not knowingly collect data about anyone under 18.

Changes. We will post changes here with a new date and email you about any change that affects how we use your data.
