Terms of service
Last updated 15 September 2026 · United Kingdom
1. Who we are. Landline for Mobile is operated by Vector Retail Group Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 12583718) with its registered office at 30 Allt Yr Yn Heights, Newport NP20 5DX, United Kingdom ("we", "us"). These terms are a contract between you and us. By creating an account you accept them. What we do with your personal data is in the privacy policy, and what is stored on your device — and what you have to agree to before anything that is not essential is — is in the cookie policy; neither is part of this contract, and neither depends on it.
2. The service. We provide a telephone number (a UK local, national or freephone number, as chosen at sign-up) and forward calls made to it to a mobile number you nominate and verify ("the destination"). The service also provides voicemail-to-email, working-hours routing, greetings and a control panel, as described on the site. Call recording is off unless you switch it on in your control panel. When it is on, answered calls are recorded and each recording appears beside its call in your control panel, where you can play it or delete it. The audio stays with the carrier that recorded it; we keep it for 90 days and then delete it, and deleting one deletes the carrier's copy before our record of it. The service is for receiving calls only. It does not provide outbound calling, SMS or emergency calling, and must not be relied on as a means of contacting the emergency services.
3. Eligibility and identity. You must be at least 18 and, for a business account, authorised to bind the business. Numbering rules in each country require every number to be linked to a verified person or business. You agree to give accurate identity and address details and to update them if they change. We may verify them using a carrier or identity-verification partner, may decline to allocate a number, and may withdraw a number if verification fails, cannot be completed, or the details were false.
4. Price and trial. The price shown at sign-up is the price charged: currently £9.99 a month for the All-in-One plan, with no tax added to it. Up to 300 minutes a month to a UK mobile included, then 5p a minute. Minutes beyond the plan's allowance are billed at the per-minute rate above. Extra minutes are charged monthly, on the bill after they are used — on a monthly plan and a yearly plan alike, so a yearly payment stays the yearly price. 7-day free trial, and it starts the day your number goes live. The plan is free for those 7 days — the only thing you can be charged for is minutes past the 300 included, at 5p a minute. Minutes past the allowance during the free trial are charged at the same per-minute rate and appear as one line on your first bill; if you cancel before the trial ends, they are not charged at all. You set up a payment method at sign-up so the number can be ordered; nothing is collected until the trial ends, and if you cancel before then you pay nothing. Yearly plans are billed in advance at the price shown.
5. Payment. Payments are taken by card through Stripe, our payment processor, under Stripe's terms; we never see or store your card or bank details. If a payment fails we will tell you and retry over the following days; if every retry fails forwarding is suspended (calls go to voicemail), and if it remains unpaid 30 days after that the number is released and the account closed. A period you have already paid for is never taken away: on a yearly plan, a payment for extra minutes that we cannot collect is chased but never suspends your number. Prices may change on 30 days' notice by email; a change never applies to a period you have already paid for.
6. Fair use and acceptable use. The service, including the forwarding minutes in your plan, is subject to the fair use policy, which forms part of these terms. You must not use the service, or allow it to be used: to make or receive calls that are unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive or abusive; for telemarketing or automated or bulk traffic; to receive verification codes or messages on behalf of third parties; to present a number as belonging to a business or place it does not; or in any way that damages our carrier relationships or other customers' service. We may suspend a number immediately, without notice, where we reasonably believe it is being used in breach of this clause, and will tell you why as soon as we can.
7. Voicemail and call recording. Voicemails, and the transcripts made of them, are stored for 90 days and then deleted; you can delete them sooner from your control panel. You decide whether to record and why; we hold the recordings for you and act on your instructions about them, which for data protection purposes makes you their controller and us your processor, and we will enter into a data-processing agreement with you if you need one. Where you record calls you are the one recording them, and complying with the law that applies to you is your responsibility, not ours: that normally means having a clear reason to record and telling the people you are recording. In the UK a business that records its own calls is generally expected to have a clear reason for doing so and to take reasonable steps to let the people on the call know; both the rules that permit business recording and data protection law bear on it. Someone you have recorded may ask you for a copy of the recording of their own voice, or ask you to delete it, and answering them is yours to do as well. If you are not sure what applies to your business, take your own advice — we hold the recordings for you and we cannot advise you on whether to make them. We do not listen to your recordings, use them for any purpose of our own, or give them to anyone else except where the law requires it.
8. Numbers. Numbers are allocated to you for the duration of your subscription. They remain the property of the allocating carrier and the national numbering authority. You may transfer a number to another provider ("port out") at any time and we will not charge for it or obstruct it; request it before cancelling. On cancellation we hold your number for 30 days in case you change your mind, then release it. We may, exceptionally, have to change your number where a carrier or regulator requires it; we will give as much notice as we can and help you communicate the change.
9. Transfers in. If you ask us to transfer an existing number to us, you must be entitled to it and must supply the documents your current provider requires. Transfers depend on that provider and typically take two to four weeks. Do not cancel your existing service until the transfer has completed; a number cancelled before transfer may be lost, and we cannot recover it.
10. Cancellation. You may cancel at any time from your account. Service continues to the end of the period you have paid for and no further payment is taken. As a consumer you also have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days of signing up; if you asked us to start the service within that period, you agree we may charge for the part of the service used before you cancel — which, during the free trial, is nothing.
11. Our responsibilities and limits. We will provide the service with reasonable skill and care and aim for it to be available at all times, but we depend on carrier networks, mobile networks and the internet and cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. We are not liable for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control, by your mobile being unavailable, or by the acts of third-party networks. Except for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any liability the law does not allow us to limit, our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period. We are not liable for loss of profit, business or opportunity.
12. Complaints and disputes. If something goes wrong, tell us and we will try to put it right — our complaints code sets out how to complain, how quickly we answer, and how to ask a director to review it. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer protection you have where you live.
13. Changes. We may update these terms; we will email you 30 days before any change that reduces your rights, and you may cancel before it takes effect. Continued use after that date is acceptance. The version on the site is the current one; its date is shown at the top.
